Why choose photography as the medium? Perhaps it is the theatricality of direct confrontation with a subject, particularly hands, which have such rich historical meaning and an artistic interpretation that goes back to Paleolithic times. It is a new vision of ordinary subjects. Perhaps it is the interplay and transformation, the directness of visual and poetical metaphors. Memories and wishes are drawn by light, in direct harmony with the artist/photographer’s eye, and of course, her “hands.”
